The first tower block, known as 'The Lawn' was built and seen as the new solution to the post-war housing issue. In their almost 60 year history they have gone from housing solution to housing nightmare in many cities across the UK. And yet, now they are seeing a rebirth of popularity as private housing while they still decline as social housing. A paradox.
